A startling piece of the American political puzzle falls into place
A few days ago, Washington Post writer Greg Sargent dug into a new public opinion poll. I found my former colleague’s analysis eye-opening enough to share here. (You’ll find a free link toward the bottom of this post.)
It turns out that Fox News viewers are even more detached from reality than you might have thought. More than 90 percent of likely Republican primary voters who rely on Fox as their main news source do not think Trump committed serious crimes. Only 5 percent think he did. Among those who rely on mainstream sources, 52 percent do not think he committed serious crimes, and 38 percent think he did.
